Because of our iPad connection issues, as part of the redesign the decisions was made to get away from iPad controls and go to crestron touch panel controllers.Ĭan iPads use a wired connection to connect through the crestron app back into a system using an external piece of gear? I would like to continue using the iPads instead of having to replace the 7 existing iPads I have with 7 10" crestron touch panels. For lack of a nicer way to say it, the companies responsible for our buildings network infrastructure can't seem to get the wireless network set up so iPads maintain continuity of connection and regularly fall off the network.

at the front of each room we have 6 Ipad2s which individually control each conference room and a master iPad control which controls linking and unlinking rooms just above our system rack which is managed by an offsite company technician. The crestron system is built on a stand alone Wireless network that operates in tandem with the three other wireless networks which are available in our office. The conference rooms are very basic setups with a Single DM Matrix switch sending video to ceiling mounted projectors and ceiling speakers.

I have 6 ipads set up to control 6 individual conference rooms which can be configured to make 1 large room or 6 small rooms utilizing airwalls. (I have a couple of CP2e and A/V 2 units which i play around with for simple projects but all basic orientation setups) I have run into an issue that my design firms are telling me can't be solved and If I'm honest I don't really believe them so figured i would consult with the expert and get your expertise on the matter.

I am a Technical Manager for audio visual and have a wealth of experience with physical gear but little crestron programming experience. I work in the entertainment industry and I am currently having companies bid out for a new conference room design.
